About Us

Our founder and head chef is originally from London, he is a graduate of the prestigious French culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu. Very meticulous about his work, he has great passion for food and customer satisfaction. 
"I started Black Bread Bakery when my family and I decided to bring the much beloved traditional rye bread from Europe to the UAE. Across Nordics, Germany and much of Eastern Europe they refer to it as "black bread" in their local languages due to its dark appearance when baked. Rye bread enjoyed across these nations is quite different to what is available in most supermarkets locally. Traditional rye is a dense, slightly moist and extremely delicious bread which is made with 100% whole grain rye flour and a natural sourdough starter. It is packed with fibre, vitamins and minerals and is truly a superfood."
The bakery has since expanded to include a full range of products including cakes, cookies, brownies and other delicious baked goods with a constantly updated menu.

No matter what recipe or technique is being used, the quality of your ingredients will have a massive effect on the final outcome. We use only free range and organic eggs in all our products and imported French butter, flour and chocolates from the finest farmers, mills and chocolatiers across France."
